The refreshed Hongqi HQ9 PHEV appears on China’s 25th tax-exempt list with a 39.5kWh pack delivering 173km or 168km electric range. A 120kW 2.0T petrol engine forms the plug-in hybrid, while design keeps the vertical-bar grille and full-width taillights on its 5222×2005×1935mm luxury MPV body.

Nissan plans to export electric vehicles (EVs) from its Chinese factories to Southeast Asia, the Middle East, and other regions starting in 2026. The N7 mid-size sedan, the first EV developed in China, will be among the first to be exported. Nissan has invested in China's IAT Automobile Technology to develop software for export markets. Additionally, Nissan has established a joint venture with Dongfeng Motor Group to handle vehicle exports. Nissan aims to leverage the cost-effectiveness of Chinese EVs to enhance its competitiveness in overseas markets.

BYD has officially launched the SHARK pickup in the Chilean market. The SHARK is the first pickup to feature DMO (Dual Mode Off-road) technology, combining the performance and efficiency of traditional combustion vehicles with electric vehicles. Equipped with a 1.5T turbocharged engine and dual electric motors, the SHARK offers over 430 horsepower and 650 Nm of torque, with a 0-100 km/h acceleration time of just 5.7 seconds. It features BYD's Blade Battery integrated via CTC (Cell-to-Chassis) technology, capable of charging from 30% to 80% in just 15 minutes. The vehicle includes a 12.8-inch rotatable touchscreen, a 10.8-inch dashboard, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and is available in black, blue, and white. The SHARK also boasts a payload capacity of 850 kg and a towing capacity of 2,500 kg, along with six airbags and the DiPilot driving assistance system.

Renault has christened its upcoming flagship crossover “Filante,” positioned above Austral, Espace and Rafale, set for world debut on Jan 13. Underpinned by a Geely-shared modular architecture supporting ICE, hybrid and BEV layouts, the sleek coupé-SUV will be produced at Busan plant for Korea and selected markets, excluding Europe. The name evokes the record-setting Filante Record concept that covered 1 008 km without recharging.

Fresh MIIT filings show the facelifted Yangwang U7 EV gaining a 150.01 kWh Blade pack good for up to 1,006 km CLTC—286 km more than the current 135.5 kWh version—while the PHEV sticks with a 52.4 kWh battery for 200/220 km electric range. Quad-motor power remains 1,000 kW; prices stay RM 628k–708k, keeping it China’s priciest home-grown luxury EV sedan.

Nissan confirmed its Formula E squad will race in the Mexico City E-Prix, Round 2 of the 2025/26 season. Reigning-event winner Oliver Rowland, who charged from P13 to P2 in São Paulo’s opener, targets another victory on the 2.63 km, 2,250 m-high Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez, now minus the back-straight chicane. Nissan also extended its two-season partnership with UAE-based Coral to keep cutting the team’s carbon footprint via a bespoke EMS aligned with FIA and GHG-protocol standards.
