Daimler Trucks has delivered the first batch of its all-electric Rizon brand trucks to customers in California, with more units scheduled for delivery throughout March 2024. The Rizon trucks are class 4 and 5 medium-duty battery-electric vehicles with gross vehicle weights ranging from 15,995 to 17,995 pounds. They are capable of being charged using both DC Fast and Level 2 AC Charging systems. The initial deployment includes a diverse range of customers such as LA Sanitation and Environment, Goodwill Industries, and Ecorecycling, marking a significant step for Daimler Trucks in advancing electrified transportation solutions.

BYD has officially launched the Seal 08 in China, with 8 variants priced between 229,900 and 279,900 yuan. Positioned as a mid-to-large SUV, the model offers both 1.5L PHEV and pure electric powertrains. The PHEV variant delivers a combined CLTC range of 1,650 km, while the EV version achieves up to 900 km CLTC range, with the dual-motor AWD completing 0-100 km/h in just 3.9 seconds. Li Auto i9 Launching Mid-September with Four LiDARs and 680km Range
Li Auto reported August 2026 deliveries of 37,679 units, bringing cumulative deliveries to 1,801,834 units. The new Li MEGA launches on September 2 and Li i9 mid-September. The Li i9 is a six-seat pure electric SUV (5,225/1,970/1,752mm, 3,168mm wheelbase) with four standard LiDARs, dual motors (150kW front + 250kW rear) and 101kWh battery delivering 680-705 km range. In H1 2026, the Li i6 ranked among the top 3 best-selling vehicles above 200,000 yuan for seven consecutive months. Mahou VLA will roll out to Thor and Orin-X platform users in September. As of August 31, Li Auto operates 487 retail centers (160 cities), 533 service centers (218 cities) and 4,162 supercharging stations with 22,939 piles.

The 2027 ZEEKR 7X will launch in Q4 with unchanged exterior design but new color options and an available 85kWh Golden Brick battery. The current model is priced at 229,800-269,800 yuan, equipped standard with Thor chip and Qianli H7 autonomous driving. Powertrain options include RWD 370kW with 75/103kWh battery and AWD 585kW with 103kWh, offering up to 802km range. Current purchase benefits include free rear electric sofa, fridge and 20-inch wheels, plus choice of 5-year 0% finance, 10,000 yuan discount or premium gift.

Xiaomi SU7 Ultra Facelift Spied with Quad-Motor Option Exceeding 2,054hp
Spy shots of the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra facelift have emerged in China. The model retains the fastback silhouette with carbon fiber mirrors, roof-mounted LiDAR and ceramic brakes, while the rear features a large goose-neck spoiler with DRS for improved downforce. A new quad-motor powertrain delivering over 2,054hp is expected, a significant jump from the current 1,548hp tri-motor setup. For reference, the current version accelerates 0-100 km/h in 1.98 seconds with a top speed exceeding 350 km/h.

Jaecoo has launched the J7 PHEV AWD in Australia this month. The model features a single-speed dedicated hybrid transmission with a 1.5L turbo engine (103hp/215Nm) paired with a front motor (204hp/210Nm) and rear motor (154hp/210Nm), delivering a combined 354hp and 490Nm. The 18.4kWh BYD LFP battery offers 80km NEDC pure electric range (approximately 70km WLTP). It supports 40kW DC fast charging (30-80% in 20 minutes). The cabin features a 10.25-inch instrument display, 14.8-inch portrait touchscreen and head-up display. Priced at AU$47,990 (approximately RM138,500) in top Summit trim.
