The Volkswagen ID.ERA 8X has been revealed, with pre-sales starting September 28. Positioned as a mid-to-large size SUV with a large five-seat layout, officially dubbed a "German driving flagship SUV." Exterior features connected light strips and L-shaped daytime running lights with a six-core headlight design. Dimensions are 5,020/1,997/1,750mm with a 2,970mm wheelbase. Interior follows the ID.ERA 9X design with dual-spoke steering wheel, instrument magic screen, Smart surface door panel and 15.6-inch 2.5K dual screens. Chassis uses cloud chassis and VMC control system with dual-chamber air suspension and intelligent road-preview magic carpet system. Powertrain combines a 1.5L range extender (105kW) with a 220kW motor. The 51.1kWh battery delivers over 340km CLTC EV range and 1,400km total; the 65.2kWh version offers over 400km EV and 1,500km total range.

The Chery QQ3 EV Modern Edition has launched with a price of 88,900 yuan (88,900 yuan for additional purchase, 83,900 yuan for trade-in). Built on the Neo Retro design concept, it offers exclusive British Green and Cream color options. The Fang Cheng Bao Titanium 9 interior has been revealed, positioned as a large plug-in hybrid SUV with 6-seat layout and boxy design, launching in Q4. Interior features a continuous screen, four-spoke steering wheel, island console with wireless charging and physical buttons. Second row offers independent seats with quick-access buttons, large foldable screens, tray tables and car fridge. Exterior has a connected circular light bar, silver skid plate and roof-mounted lidar. Dimensions are 5,270/1,999/1,850mm with a 3,130mm wheelbase. Powertrain combines 1.5T engine with front and rear motors (400kW total) and 66.48kWh battery, delivering 310km WLTP electric range and over 1,600km total range. Equipped with Cloud Na-P Ultra hydraulic suspension and rear-wheel steering.

Proton has launched the S70 Lite and Prime as new entry-level variants priced at RM59,800 and RM62,800 respectively (RM56,800 and RM59,800 after RM3,000 discount until December 31). Visual differences from higher trims include a full-black grille and no connected LED taillight bar. Both use a 1.5L naturally aspirated engine (120hp/150Nm) paired with a torque converter CVT. The Lite features halogen headlights, 16-inch wheels, analog instrument cluster and 8-inch screen with manual fabric seats; the Prime adds LED headlights, 17-inch wheels and leather seats. Sunwoda unveiled its intelligent flash charging battery system solution at the 2026 New Energy Battery Industry Development Conference on September 17, featuring 15C flash charging. At room temperature, it charges 10-70% SOC in 5 minutes and 10-97% in 9 minutes, with 1 minute of charging providing 100km range. At -30°C, it achieves 20-97% SOC in 12 minutes. The system supports 700km+ range with 90%+ range retention at -20°C, energy density of 460Wh/L (190Wh/kg). The "Intelligent Cell, Energy Domain Controller, AI Cloud Control Platform" trinity can identify 20+ fault types with 99.77% accuracy and provide 2-10 day advance warnings. The "All-Powerful • Borderless" solar-storage-flash charging open ecosystem targets 10,000 flash charging stations by end of 2027.

Hyundai's new premium EV brand IONIQ will launch the IONIQ V on September 29, with pre-sales open for three trims at 119,900-139,900 yuan. The first model from Hyundai China Design Center, it is tailored for Chinese users and will be exported globally. The exterior features a closed grille-free design with split lighting and a fastback silhouette with frameless doors, offering 8 color options. Dimensions are 4,900/1,890/1,470mm with a 2,900mm wheelbase. Interior offers a 27-inch ultra-thin 4K screen with Baidu Wenxin and Doubao AI models, Snapdragon 8295 chip and Cyber Eye HUD.
