FAW Hongqi's all-new mid-to-large sedan, the TianGong 07, was officially unveiled on August 13 and will make its public debut at the Chengdu Auto Show on August 21 before its second-half launch. The exterior follows an Eastern aesthetics and minimalist design philosophy with a sealed front grille and connected taillights with a small ducktail. Dimensions measure 5000/1915/1490mm with a 3000mm wheelbase. The cabin features a wrap-around cockpit with a full LCD instrument cluster, floating central screen, hidden air vents and a two-tone color scheme. The Hongqi Sinan smart driving system enables comprehensive active safety, urban/highway navigation assistance and full-scenario smart parking. Two powertrain options include a single motor (340kW) and dual motor (190kW/340kW), both with lithium iron phosphate batteries.

The next-generation Audi RS 6 has been spotted testing in the Austrian Alps. The prototype features a low-key yet aggressive exterior with large wheels, widened fenders and a front fender vent. Yellow warning labels on the hood, doors and trunk confirm the hybrid powertrain. The new RS 6 is expected to switch from the current 4.0L twin-turbo V8 to a V6 twin-turbo hybrid system producing approximately 750PS, with standard quattro all-wheel drive. Both sedan and estate wagon versions will be offered. The model is slated for a spring 2027 global debut, with European sales beginning in mid-to-late 2027.

Toyota Motor Thailand Lexus Group Vice President Suppakorn Rattavara unveiled the all-new eighth-generation Lexus ES on August 13 at The Mall Bangkapi, Bangkok. The model is Lexus's second BEV and first BEV sedan, embodying the "Experience Elegant and Electrified Sedan" philosophy. It offers a 2.5-litre hybrid and pure electric powertrain options reflecting the brand's Multi-Pathway strategy. The exterior features the new Spindle Body design with Twin L Signature Lamps and Slim Light Bar taillights, while the interior follows a Clean Tech and Elegant concept. Features include Hidden Switches, Electro-Shiftmatic system, new-generation multimedia with Mark Levinson audio and Lexus Safety System+ 4.0, maintaining the Lexus Driving Signature character.

A camouflaged Proton S70 facelift has been spotted testing on Malaysian public roads, representing a Proton-led local mid-cycle update. The rear taillights are slimmer with segmented LEDs similar to those on the latest Saga, though oriented in the opposite direction. The current S70 MC1 is based on the Geely Emgrand, which received a 2025 facelift while the Chinese counterpart has progressed to its fifth generation. A naturally aspirated variant is expected to replace the B-segment Persona in Proton's local lineup.

angchengbao has launched the Titanium 3 510km rear-wheel-drive flash-charge variant at 143,800 yuan. The new variant features a 64.3kWh lithium iron phosphate battery with a CLTC range of 510km, curb weight reduced to 1,920kg and 0-100 km/h acceleration in 6.9 seconds. The exterior retains the "Star Wars front face" design language with dimensions of 4605/1900/1720mm and a 2745mm wheelbase, equipped with 18-inch wheels. Configuration deletes the heated steering wheel and HUD head-up display. With this launch, the Titanium 3 lineup now offers three flash-charge variants priced from 143,800 to 169,800 yuan.

The Geely Starray EM-R celebrated its global premiere in Thailand today, marking Geely's first range-extended EV (REEV) for worldwide markets. The model is nearly identical to the Starray EM-i (known as the Proton eMas 7 PHEV in Malaysia), retaining the same exterior design, 18/19-inch wheel options, 10.2-inch instrument display and 15.4-inch infotainment screen. The powertrain comprises a 218PS/262Nm electric motor, 99PS 1.5L range-extended engine and 18.4kWh CATL LFP battery delivering 104.8km NEDC EV range with 30kW DC fast charging. The key difference from the PHEV is the removal of the clutch connecting the engine to the transmission, meaning pure electric drive only. This enables REEVs to qualify for Thailand's 20% import tax rate versus 80% for ICE vehicles and PHEVs, significantly reducing the vehicle's cost.
