Voyah has announced its new full-size SUV, the Taishan X8, will officially launch on May 22. Pre-sales opened earlier with five trim levels priced between 302,900 and 389,900 yuan, accumulating over 40,000 orders within just 13 days. The vehicle features Voyah's family design language with a closed grille, brand logo, and slim lighting units, measuring 5,200/2,025/1,814 mm with a 3,090 mm wheelbase. Six exterior colors are available. A key highlight is the debut of Huawei's 896-line quad-LiDAR system (one main plus three solid-state LiDARs), complemented by HD cameras and mmWave radar, providing L3 autonomous driving hardware capability. The Taishan X8 also features the latest HarmonyOS cockpit and advanced intelligent driving assistance, supporting highway pilot, urban NOA, automatic parking, and continuous OTA updates.

Voyah is set to enter the Malaysian market with its flagship Dream MPV, alongside the MHero II off-roader and 008 family SUV, at June's Kuala Lumpur International Mobility Show (KLIMS). The luxury MPV measures 5,315/1,980/1,820 mm with a 3,200 mm wheelbase. In China, it offers PHEV and EV powertrains: the PHEV combines a 1.5T engine with dual electric motors producing 653 PS and 915 Nm, achieving 0-100 km/h in 5.9 seconds, with a 62.5 kWh battery delivering 350 km CLTC electric range and 1,530 km combined range. The EV variant features a 108.7 kWh NMC battery and dual motors totaling 551 PS, offering 700 km CLTC range. Key features include rear-wheel steering (up to five degrees), air suspension, a 29-inch AR head-up display, 17.3-inch ceiling monitor, and a 13-litre centre console fridge.

The Geely Galaxy Starshine 6 is reportedly heading to Australia early next year as the Emgrand EM-i, according to CarExpert. Based on the fifth-generation Emgrand, the plug-in hybrid sedan measures 4,806/1,886/1,490 mm with a 2,756 mm wheelbase, positioning it above the Honda Civic near D-segment territory, though it retains torsion beam rear suspension. Power comes from Geely's EM-i system, pairing a 111 PS 1.5-litre naturally-aspirated engine (record 47.26% thermal efficiency) with a 163 PS electric motor via an 11-in-1 single-speed DHT. As Australia represents one of Geely's largest right-hand-drive markets, and given the Galaxy Starship 7's previous transition to the Proton eMas 7 PHEV in Malaysia, the Emgrand EM-i raises strong prospects of arriving as a Proton eMas sedan model—potentially the eMas 6 PHEV—to complete the NEV sub-brand's lineup.

BMW's next-generation X6 (chassis code G66) and all-electric iX6 (chassis code G96) renders have surfaced. Production is scheduled to commence in April 2028 at the Spartanburg plant, utilizing an upgraded CLAR architecture integrated with Neue Klasse platform technologies. The coupe-SUV retains its signature sloping roofline while adopting the Neue Klasse design language. The cabin will feature the latest Panoramic Vision display and iDrive X system. A high-performance X6 M variant will also join the lineup.

Audi has launched the third-generation Q5 and Q5 Sportback in Malaysia, each offered in a single variant. The Q5 Advanced 2.0 TFSI is priced at RM354,223 (2-year warranty) or RM371,223 with a 5-year warranty and service package, while the Q5 Sportback S line 2.0 TFSI quattro starts at RM423,223 (RM440,220 with 5-year coverage). Both feature a 2.0L turbocharged four-cylinder engine, producing 199 PS/340 Nm in the front-wheel-drive Q5 with a seven-speed DCT, and 272 PS/400 Nm in the all-wheel-drive Sportback with quattro. Standard equipment includes Matrix LED headlights, an 11.9-inch digital instrument cluster, a 14.5-inch OLED touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto and ChatGPT AI integration, and Level 2 ADAS. The Sportback adds a Bang & Olufsen 3D sound system, 50W/100W USB-C fast charging, and projection taillights, with cargo capacity of 515-1,415 litres.

BMW M VP Sylvia Neubauer has confirmed to Autocar that the next-generation M3 will be offered in both battery-electric and petrol-powered variants at comparable price points. The BEV version will feature four independent electric drive units—one per wheel with individual gearboxes—with the front axle capable of complete decoupling for rear-wheel-drive configuration, delivering one megawatt (1,360 PS). While functional differences will result in some design variations, the two models will appear as "twins." Neubauer stated that M will not target distinct buyer groups, acknowledging that within the high-performance segment, some customers favor progressive electrification while diehard petrolheads remain committed to ICE. BMW M's BEV lineup is set to debut from 2027.
