BYD Motor Indonesia, a Chinese electric vehicle manufacturer, has partnered with PLN Icon Plus, a subsidiary of Indonesia's state-owned electricity company, to promote 100,000 electric vehicles. The collaboration aims to accelerate Indonesia's transition to an electric mobility era and increase the availability of the BYD brand. Eagle Zhou, President Director of BYD Motor Indonesia, stated that the partnership, set to last five years, is a significant step in supporting the development of Indonesia's electric vehicle ecosystem and achieving the company's environmental vision. Ari Rahmat Indra Cahyadi, Managing Director of PLN Icon Plus, believes the collaboration is crucial for supporting a cleaner and more sustainable energy transformation in Indonesia.

A newly published BYD patent describes a post-impact control strategy: once a crash is detected, drive and steering motors instantly counteract impact torque to keep the front wheels straight, preventing steering-wheel snatch and secondary accidents.
