Pickering Electronics has launched its newest high-power reed relay, Series 144, featuring an 80-Watt power rating and a compact 0.25-inch pitch stacking capability. The single-in-line-package (SIP) reed relay offers a switching current up to 2 Amps and a continuous carry current up to 3 Amps. It also provides high-voltage capabilities, with a switching voltage of 1000 Vdc up to 10 Watts and up to 3 kV stand-off. Designed for applications such as electric vehicle (EV) charging, Series 144 combines high-power switching with exceptional low-level performance. The relay presents a greener alternative to mercury-wetted reed relays and offers superior performance and isolation compared to miniature electromechanical relays (EMRs), with faster switching speeds and longer mechanical lifespans. The construction of reed relays with vacuumed switches offers environmental protection against dust, moisture, and contaminants, maintaining performance and reliability over a longer period.
