Changan Automobile launched the Deepal Hunter K50, the world’s first Range-Extended Electric Vehicle (REEV) pickup truck, at the 2025 Bangkok International Motor Show. Priced at 1,099,000 baht (approximately RM142,900), the K50 features dual electric motors with a combined output of 272 horsepower and 470 Nm of torque, achieving 0-100 km/h acceleration in 7.9 seconds. Equipped with a 31.18 kWh lithium iron phosphate battery, it offers an NEDC-rated electric range of 131 km, supported by a 2.0T diesel engine for a total range of up to 900 km. The vehicle also supports up to 41 kW of DC fast charging and a 3.3 kW vehicle-to-load (V2L) function.

Geely Auto Posts 232,000 Units in March with Over 50% New Energy Sales
In March 2025, Geely Auto sold 232,177 vehicles, up 54% year-on-year and 13% month-on-month. New energy sales reached 119,696 units, accounting for 52% of total sales and up 167% year-on-year. The US remains the second largest market for EU vehicle exports, accounting for 22% of the EU's export market in 2024. German automakers are the largest suppliers to the US, with exports amounting to €32.71 billion, representing 64.27% of EU exports to the US. Although the US electric vehicle market is relatively small, it is growing rapidly, with BEV and PHEV sales reaching approximately 100GWh in 2024. European automakers have a significant manufacturing presence in the US, creating numerous jobs.
Geely Panda Mini Yuanqi Xiong Officially Revealed, Set to Launch on April 15
Geely has released official images of the Panda Mini Yuanqi Xiong, a micro-sized electric vehicle. The new model features a "Panda Pong" design with a blacked-out Penetrating decorative strip and oval-shaped contrasting decorations on the front bumper, complemented by round headlights for a cute appearance. Available in four colors (Warm Beige, Bamboo Green, Puff Pink, and Roll White), the vehicle comes with 13-inch bamboo leaf wheels. The interior remains consistent with the current model, featuring a two-spoke flat-bottom steering wheel and a touchscreen display. It includes a phone holder interface, hill-start assist, reversing camera, and radar, with ESP body stability control as an optional feature. Users can remotely control the vehicle via an app, including air conditioning, door locks, and trunk opening, and enjoy voice control functionality. The vehicle is expected to be powered by a 41-horsepower single motor with a range of up to 210km, featuring integrated fast and slow charging capabilities. The Panda Mini Yuanqi Xiong is set to launch on April 15.

GAC Group held its 2025 Tech Day and the official launch of the Aion Hyper HL mid-size SUV in Guangzhou on April 12. The Aion Hyper HL, priced between 279,800 and 329,800 yuan, features a "land yacht" design philosophy with split headlights and Penetrating taillights. The interior includes a 27-inch W-HUD display and a 17.3-inch 3K touchscreen, powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8295P chip. The vehicle is equipped with the ADiGO intelligent driving assistance system, supporting full-scene navigation without maps. Powertrain options include pure electric and range-extended versions, with the electric version offering a CLTC range of 750km and the range-extended version boasting over 1200km of total range.

New Jeep Grand Cherokee Spy Shots Reveal Mid-Cycle Upgrades
Spy shots of the new Jeep Grand Cherokee have been revealed. As a mid-cycle refresh, the mid-size SUV features upgrades to its exterior and interior. The front fascia has been updated with a new mesh grille and trapezoidal lower intake. The roof is now blacked out, and the D-pillar has a shark fin design. The taillights no longer have a blacked-out Penetrating decorative strip. Inside, the infotainment system has been upgraded with a larger screen and some physical buttons retained. Powertrain options may include a new 2.0T engine, replacing the 3.6L V6, and a continued 2.0T plug-in hybrid 4xe version.

2025 Volvo XC90 Facelift Launched in Malaysia
The 2025 Volvo XC90 facelift has been officially launched in Malaysia, offering two powertrain options: the B5 mild hybrid and the T8 plug-in hybrid. The XC90 Ultra B5 is priced at RM418,888, while the XC90 Ultra T8 is priced at RM434,888. The B5 version features a 2.0L turbocharged gasoline engine with 263HP and 390Nm of torque, achieving 0-100km/h in 7.7 seconds. The T8 version offers 462HP and 709Nm of torque, with a 0-100km/h acceleration time of 5.3 seconds. Both versions come standard with 20-inch bi-color wheels, active air suspension, panoramic sunroof, electric tailgate, full LED lighting, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, an 11.2-inch touchscreen, a four-zone automatic climate control system, and a Bowers & Wilkins sound system. Safety features include a 360-degree panoramic camera system, tire pressure monitoring, and automatic parking assistance. The new XC90 also offers a 5-year unlimited mileage warranty, with an additional 8-year/160,000km warranty for the high-voltage battery in the T8 version.
