US Remains Second Largest Market for EU Vehicle Exports, with Growing EV Potential
The US remains the second largest market for EU vehicle exports, accounting for 22% of the EU's export market in 2024. German automakers are the largest suppliers to the US, with exports amounting to €32.71 billion, representing 64.27% of EU exports to the US. Although the US electric vehicle market is relatively small, it is growing rapidly, with BEV and PHEV sales reaching approximately 100GWh in 2024. European automakers have a significant manufacturing presence in the US, creating numerous jobs.
Leapmotor Announces Product Plan for 2025-2026
Leapmotor Chairman Zhu Jiangming revealed the company's future product plans at the C16 user sharing session. In the second quarter of 2026, Leapmotor will launch a flagship MPV based on the D platform, positioned as a luxury model with an estimated price of around 200,000-300,000 yuan, alongside a full-size SUV. In 2025, Leapmotor will focus on expanding its B series, including the B10 pure electric SUV, B01 pure electric sedan, and an entry-level hatchback, the B05. Existing models are also expected to be refreshed in 2025.
Baojun Xiangjing Pre-Sales to Start on April 7, with BEV and PHEV Options
Baojun Xiangjing is set to begin pre-sales on April 7, offering both battery-electric vehicle (BEV) and plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) options. The mid-large car features a modern design with a closed grille and triple-point LED daytime running lights for the BEV version, and a connected headlight and grille with a lightning-shaped LED DRL and Through type light strip for the PHEV version. The vehicle measures 5005/1900/1505 (PHEV) 1490 (BEV) mm in length, width, and height, with a wheelbase of 2900 mm. The interior includes a full digital instrument panel and a large center console screen, with a three-spoke flat-bottom steering wheel. The Xiangjing will be equipped with Baojun’s Lingmu 3.0 intelligent driving system, featuring urban navigation assistance and full-speed AEB, powered by a Qualcomm SA8650 chip with 200TOPS of computing power. The BEV version has a peak motor power of 186kW and a top speed of 170km/h, with a lithium iron phosphate battery. The PHEV version features a 1.5T engine with a maximum power of 105kW.

Zeekr Unveils 1.2MW Liquid-Cooled Charger, Surpassing BYD’s 1MW Technology
Zeekr has announced a new fully liquid-cooled electric vehicle (EV) charger with a peak power of 1.2MW (1,200 kW), which will make its public debut at the Shanghai Auto Show on April 23. Zeekr Group’s vice president, Zhao Yuhui, revealed that the charger can deliver 1.2MW per charging gun and that the company plans to set up supercharging stations with 10 charging guns. Currently, Zeekr operates 826 charging stations with 4,007 chargers in China and aims to have 10,000 chargers by 2026. Although no current passenger EVs support 1.2MW charging, Zeekr is preparing for future models capable of handling such extreme speeds.

FAW-Volkswagen Posts 154,000 Units in March, Accelerates Smart-Electric Transformation
In March 2025, FAW-Volkswagen sold 154,000 vehicles, with fuel vehicle sales up 1.4% year-on-year. The Volkswagen brand sold 87,000 units, increasing its market share by 1.1 percentage points; Audi sold 56,000 units, maintaining its leading position in the domestic luxury fuel vehicle market; and Jetta sold 11,000 units, with its market coverage increasing by 0.3 percentage points. The new Teramont L was launched, featuring innovations in intelligent driving and smart cockpit. The three brands also refreshed their service models to build a full-lifecycle service system. Moving forward, FAW-Volkswagen will introduce the CMP electric platform and CEA electronic architecture to accelerate its smart-electric transformation.
