Geely Auto Posts 232,000 Units in March with Over 50% New Energy Sales
In March 2025, Geely Auto sold 232,177 vehicles, up 54% year-on-year and 13% month-on-month. New energy sales reached 119,696 units, accounting for 52% of total sales and up 167% year-on-year. The Geely brand sold 191,462 units, with the China Star series contributing 101,430 units, up 7% year-on-year. The Geely Galaxy brand sold 90,032 units, up 290% year-on-year. Lynk & Co sold 25,293 units, with new energy vehicles accounting for 56%. Zeekr delivered 15,422 units, up 19% year-on-year. Overseas exports reached 37,047 units, up 45% month-on-month.
US Remains Second Largest Market for EU Vehicle Exports, with Growing EV Potential
The US remains the second largest market for EU vehicle exports, accounting for 22% of the EU's export market in 2024. German automakers are the largest suppliers to the US, with exports amounting to €32.71 billion, representing 64.27% of EU exports to the US. Although the US electric vehicle market is relatively small, it is growing rapidly, with BEV and PHEV sales reaching approximately 100GWh in 2024. European automakers have a significant manufacturing presence in the US, creating numerous jobs.
Leapmotor Announces Product Plan for 2025-2026
Leapmotor Chairman Zhu Jiangming revealed the company's future product plans at the C16 user sharing session. In the second quarter of 2026, Leapmotor will launch a flagship MPV based on the D platform, positioned as a luxury model with an estimated price of around 200,000-300,000 yuan, alongside a full-size SUV. In 2025, Leapmotor will focus on expanding its B series, including the B10 pure electric SUV, B01 pure electric sedan, and an entry-level hatchback, the B05. Existing models are also expected to be refreshed in 2025.

Baojun Xiangjing Pre-Sales to Start on April 7, with BEV and PHEV Options
Baojun Xiangjing is set to begin pre-sales on April 7, offering both battery-electric vehicle (BEV) and plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) options. The mid-large car features a modern design with a closed grille and triple-point LED daytime running lights for the BEV version, and a connected headlight and grille with a lightning-shaped LED DRL and Through type light strip for the PHEV version. The vehicle measures 5005/1900/1505 (PHEV) 1490 (BEV) mm in length, width, and height, with a wheelbase of 2900 mm. The interior includes a full digital instrument panel and a large center console screen, with a three-spoke flat-bottom steering wheel. The Xiangjing will be equipped with Baojun’s Lingmu 3.0 intelligent driving system, featuring urban navigation assistance and full-speed AEB, powered by a Qualcomm SA8650 chip with 200TOPS of computing power. The BEV version has a peak motor power of 186kW and a top speed of 170km/h, with a lithium iron phosphate battery. The PHEV version features a 1.5T engine with a maximum power of 105kW.

Hyundai Motor Group Launches Pleos, a New Mobility Software Platform
On March 28, 2025, Hyundai Motor Group introduced its new mobility software brand Pleos at the Pleos 25 developer conference in Seoul. Pleos is an end-to-end software platform that integrates high-performance chips, vehicle operating systems, infotainment systems (Pleos Connect), cloud infrastructure, fleet management, and mobility and logistics optimization solutions. The platform supports smart mobility functions such as autonomous driving, vehicle connectivity, real-time data analysis, and optimized route planning. Pleos Connect is set to launch in Q2 2026 and will be applied to more than 20 million vehicles by 2030.

MG S5 EV Debuts at 2025 Bangkok International Motor Show, Priced from 719,900 to 899,900 Baht
At the 2025 Bangkok International Motor Show, MG unveiled the S5 EV electric SUV, priced from 719,900 to 899,900 baht (approximately RM93,628 to RM117,068). The vehicle, known as the ES5 in China, is positioned as a mid-size SUV with dimensions of 4476mm in length and 1849mm in width, featuring a wheelbase of 2730mm, comparable to the BYD Atto 3. The MG S5 EV comes in two powertrain options: the Standard Range with a 50kWh lithium iron phosphate battery offering a range of 416 km, and the Long Range with a 64kWh lithium-ion NMC battery providing 550 km of range. The model also features a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, a 12.8-inch center touchscreen, wireless charging, and a PM2.5 air filter.
